Mayor Richard J. Berry will help light the largest Menorah in New Mexico.
Tuesday, December 20, 2011, the 1st night of Chanukah will mark the 20th year that Chabad of NM will celebrate Chanukah in Albuquerque. The event begins at 4 pm, on the 1st night of Chanukah as Mayor Berry will light up the largest Menorah in NM, at the Civic Plaza.

The celebration will continue inside the Convention Center with live music by the Pink Flamingos, accompanied by Israeli folk singer and legend who sings in Hebrew and Ladino, Yoel Sharabi. People will also enjoy a tasty kosher dinner prepared by Chef Rick Pedram, entertainment for the kids with a clown, face painting and an art or a poem contests.

CHILDRENS ART & POEM CONTEST
We are excited to announce the first Chanukah Art & Poem Contest: Please make a drawing or compose a poem which reflects “What does Chanukah Mean to Me.” Every child submitting an entry by Friday, December 16, will receive a free ticket to the Chanukah Celebration. All entries will be displayed at the celebration. First, second and third prizes (judged according to age) will be awarded great prizes and all winning entries will be printed in the Chabad’s Holiday Review. First Prize winner will receive a HP touchpad.
SUBMISIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY DECEMBER 16TH
AND ARE NON-RETURNABLE.
