
Chabad of New Mexico, headquartered in Albuquerque, was established with the blessing of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in September 1992. Directed by Rabbi Chaim Schmukler and his wife Devorah Leah,
Chabad of New Mexico has helped foster Jewish awareness, education, assistance and service throughout the State of New Mexico. Since its establishment, Chabad of New Mexico has had the privilege of touching the lives of thousands of people throughout the State with the help of its wide array of educational and social programs, particularly in Albuquerque.
In 1995, Chabad moved to its present location in Albuquerque, 4000 San Pedro NE (just south of Montgomery Blvd.) The building is called Bais Menachem Chabad Center in honor of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.

Chabad of New Mexico offers a wide array of Social Services, Outreach and Educational Programs, as well as a Synagogue, Social and Learning Center, open to everyone regardless of affiliation or level of Jewish observance.

There are no prerequisites for getting involved with Chabad. Whether you are affiliated or not, have an extensive Jewish background or none at all, Chabad has an open heart and open door to every Jew. You are always welcome to try one or all of our programs. We are here to serve you and will do our best to help you and your family. Just like a family member, you automatically belong!

Since Chabad does not charge membership dues, Chabad of New Mexico is funded solely by contributions from the community at large who appreciates the work Chabad is doing. Every penny raised is used to help the Jewish Communities in New Mexico.
